R50/53 Interesting electrical hiccup
Interesting electrical hiccup
Tonight I had an interesting electrical hicup with my 2003 MCS. It has xenon lights. When I started the car and turned on the lights everything but the actual headlights turned on like they should. Driving lamps and fog lights could turn on but nothing else. I then flicked the switch again and they started up.
So I drive off and begin to turn the heat on and to my suprise the entire control system for the heating/cooling is dark. I figure okay, no big deal just hit the auto button. No luck. At the next stop light I quickly turn my car off and back on and everything operates as normal.
I am chalking it up to computerized systems needing a reboot
. I will watch it a little over the next few weeks to see if its an issue. I have 9 months left on my warranty.
Anybody ever experience any of these issues?

Once my aircon system in my 2003 MCS had a similar issue, wherein it was dead when I went to use it. After an engine restart, it was fine and never it happened again. I always forget to tell the dealer about it, if it never happens again I will continue to forget.
