R50/53 MINI at #1
MINI at #1
I work at the Baltimore Sun and tonight (in between reading NAM
) I saw our weekend Business section which rates the Mini as the #1 car in holding it's value over a five year period.
For those that want to read the story, look on our website, www.baltimoresun.com on Saturday night and if our web folks are prompt, it should be posted there.

Anyone know what they base those numbers on? I heard the reason they are rating so well is that the resale value is being calculated on MSRP and now what buyers are/ were paying which in many cases was above MSRP.
So if you took what people paid against current resale, they have depreciated more than it appears.

The various publications disagee on who's #1 (surprise) but the MINI consistantly shows up, and has garnered the #1 spot on more than 1 occaision. Cars.com rates it at 67% of MSRP but Forbes for instance, picks BMW 6 & 7 series as the winners above MINI and a few others.
Regardless, to see our babies consistantly ranked high (in the top 5, the top 10) is nice!!

Thanks for the post! I don't get tired of seeing MINI accolades, that's for sure!!! :D
