Starting yesterday I began hearing a new noise in 2005 MCS. The heat was running (always set at 72 on auto) and I can hear the fan "squeaking" - Wondered if anyone else had this and took it in to be fixed. I hate to drive an hour to have it fixed - but man is this annoying.

 

It could be that the fan bearing went bad. Take it back and have them repair/replace it under warranty. It sucks, but that's what the warranty is for.

 

Starting last week, I too have this noise. I thought it was just me. So guess my 2005 MCS is going back into the dealer. :(

 

Does anyone know what the answer to the problem is? I think I'm getting the same noise? But not all the time.

 

I did have this happen on my '04 S. Turned out the heat/AC blower motor was bad. The good news it was covered under warranty. The bad news its an 8 hour job. They have to remove the dash to replace the moter if it is bad.

Motor City MINI did mine and Tiffany's customer service is impeccable. I had a loaner while my car was down.

Yikes!!! I hope that is not what is wrong with mine. I have 91000 miles. No warranty for me.

 

Was wondering how this truned out? My 05 MCS has started to rattle from the blower motor and I am afraid that the housing has slipped allowing it to rub. Not sure I want to pay 8 hours of labor to fix a noisy blower motor. :-(
