hey,

today while i was parking the car i noticed that my driver side door lock pull thingy (dont know the exact name) does not function. the passanger side functions, it can be pushed down to lock the door and when u click the toggle it shoots up. however the driver side pull does not do either???? is this supposed to happen? i can see a reason so that you do not lock your keys in the car, but is it supposed to not function?

if you guys do not notice mayb u can check ur coopers?

thanks

-lb

I would go see the dealer...when you lokc the car, and the pull is still up, is the door locked or can it be opened?

I can't even imagine how you would notice that? Anyway, there are a lot of rules about when the driver's door can be locked/unlocked. For example, the driver's door can only be locked while closed whereas the passenger door can be locked anytime. Maybe you're not following the rules? Does the knub move up and down when operated normally (i.e. by remote from outside the car)?

As has been said, the important question is whether the door is locked or not. Stand outside. Close the door. Use your remote to lock the car. Can you open the driver's side door?

If it's not locked, go have it checked out right away (unless you like keeping your car unlocked). If it IS locked, still get it checked out, but it's not as urgent (unless a not-moving-thingy really bugs you).
