I saw a grey/metallic MCS yesterday on the freeway. Of course I checked it out and provided an unrequited friendly wave.
I noticed that the rear badge had two 'S's. Just the same as the normal logo but two 'S's.
Does anyone know anything about this?

Just "badge engineering"- somebody trying to ape Chevy's "SS" using two Mini S's. Clever, interesting, but not a new model.
