Thinking of an Alta intake, will it sound similar to this...

I am thinking of putting an Alta CAI on my MCS and am just a little concerned about the super charger being too obrtrusive at idle and low RPMs on the highway etc...

I am definately wanting to get a slight performance increase and increase the SC sound from stock a little. The amount of sound that is coming from this GP in the following video is just about perfect.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...per+s+gp&hl=en

How will the Alta sound compare?

Thanks,
k

Probably the same, if not a little less. Remember, that is a full JCW tune in that car. I don't think JUST an intake will do that, unless you do a silencer delete.

First run is windows closed, second and third runs windows are open. Stock MCS with an ALTA CAI and custom box top. First two sections are in 2nd gear
Stock pulley, reductions will make more noise under boost.

Awesome, I love that sound. Thanks for the video find. I really like the fact that while driving you really only hear it when you get on it. That is how it currently is just not loud enough!

When my warranty is up in 10 months I will also be doing a pulley.

You probably do not want to remove the back panel if you want to keep the noise down. Many of us do remove that panel in order to allow air to come in through the vents just below the windshield.
