First Time Taking MINI on a Trip - Testimonial

I bought my '06 MCS about seven months ago and have been loving it ever since. One thing I hadn't done yet and one thing that was a concern for me was taking it on a 6-7 hour trip. I finally did that over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The car was a joy on the trip and now I love it even more (if that's possible). With the 17" wheels it can be bumpy on a rough road, but for the most part it was a comfortable drive. I was concerned how I'd feel surrounded by semis - but the fact that I could be in and out and gone in the blink of an eye was fantastic!

I'm 46 years old and have an XXL frame, but I wouldn't hesitate to take the MINI cross-country.

Peace.

I haven't done the long road trips yet... by my baby makes it from San Diego to Burbank about 3 times a week (2.5 hours each way) with no issues... just disappointed with the gas milage - approx 28mpg. In one month... she'll be treking from SD to Denver... that's going to be interesting!

after moving to non run-flats my MCS is pretty nice on the highway. I am sure its a little louder than some cars but its not louder than our 2000 Grand cherokee...

Only problem I have on long trips is that my right knee really starts to get uncomfortable after a while. This is not just the mini but any manual transmision car that I have driven. In order for me to work the clutch properly it requires sitting just a little further forward. Sitting further forward makes my knee bend differently than I am used to in automatics and it torques it after a while...
