New bike rack option for MCS and MCSC!

Sam Bird has been making bike racks, ski and snowboard racks and golf and luggage carriers for years for Porche, Audi TT, VW, etc. I called him about a Mini and he agreed to use my Mini S Cabrio as a prototype. Bike rack works great, was easy to install, and fits in boot with seats down. Rack slides into tiny tubes which are attached to a metal plate on undercarriage.Installation was easy with template used to drill 4 holes under rear of Mini to access screws under boot carpet.Takes about an hour. He can only do Mini S presently(no spare tire under car) Rack is very study and holds 2-3 bikes. I just ordered the ski/snowboard rack. Here is link to website and pix.

Wow, very nice. If I'd have seen this before I got my new cabrio a month ago I'd have had to give it serious thought, but I already have the MINI sport link installed. The sport link is nice in that it folds down giving you full access to the trunk... but not having those sport link tubes sticking out might be worth the compromise.
