R50/53 2004 S "Enery" saves Vegasdan
Matt (Dr Obnxs), with all due respect; SHUT THE HELL UP! This obvoiusly self-centered plague on the driving public deserves a solid a$$-whoopin'.
If anyone did that to me, they should consider themselves lucky to be able to walk afterward.
Inattentive, self-absorbed SUV drivers will be the death of many good folks. Do you really believe that they should be given the benefit of the doubt?
I, for one, do not.
PS: Dan, sorry for the rant. Very glad to hear that you are still kicking.

^^ Yeah, that's a great idea -- I hear that reactionary violence is a REALLY effective way to convince people to pay more attention.
I hope, obviously, that you'r enever put into a situation where you feel the need to react, but if you ever are do you really think that the judge/jury is going be sympathetic to your "rationale"?

^^ Judge, jury? Who gives a rat's patootie? The offending driver will never do it again.
(This would be assuming that I could be identified. Not likely).
Sorry, but this is a product of where I live; DWI is the official State sport.

I never told anyone to be a victem.
And there is a difference between standing up for one's due, and being a *****.

What do you think the other person's explanation for blowing you away when you attack them will be?
The word is accident for a reason and trust me in my job I see a lot of them. Grow up folks, most of us tend to push the limits of controllability on any given day and yet since we do it in a small, sporty car that makes us a better person - yeah right

It's totally understandable to want to exact immediate revenge on the offending driver. A few years ago I was rear-ended by a guy with no license, registration or insurance. He tried to escape the scene, but was hit by a guy on a Ninja going about 20-mph. The owner of the car (this guys sister) payed for all my damage, and the jack-*** driver went to jail for 2 weeks before getting deported.
I find that usually, when you just let things happen on their own, karma is a bigger ***** than revenge. That isn't to say that you shouldn't hold bad drivers responsible. Just do it in a way that won't make the situation worse.

Apparently, the cost of perfection is extreme rage.
Glad I'm fallible, terrified of those who aren't.
I was rearended last year by a stupid driver who wasn't paying attention... because he was on his way to the hospital having just heard that his wife was miscarrying. While intensely annoyed by the entire situation (and obviously unharmed, save for a sore neck), I consider that a mitigating factor. Who knows what anyone of us has going on in their life at any given time.

Accident vs stupidity...that is the question.
Accident? No problem. Driving HUA*? ***-whoopin time.
If you keep giving idiots a break, they'll keep being idiots.
*cranial-rectal inversion.

You will
if you end up in a confontation with someone with your same concepts, who's either bigger or better armed.

Driving an SUV comes with some built-in responsibilities that most drivers just don't get. An SUV will do a hell of a lot more damage to me than a Civic will.
Point taken....grudgingly.
I've been on enough "club" drives and attended all the Dragon meets to witness the driving habits of enough MINI Owners to, at least IMHO, warrant the use of the words most and controllability.
I do however want to commend you on your restraint.
But I feel safe in saying that the recommended speed (yellow sign) on must entrance and exit ramps is rarely followed by a MINI driver. In fact, it appears to most, to be a test.
Good boy, now repeat after me: sunshine and puppies... sunshine and puppies... (but not too loud; you'll freak out the doc
)Sunshine and puppies.
sunshine... puppies.
3cocinas,
my other vehicle is an SUV. i am just as attentive driving my SUV as i am when driving my MINI (if not more - the SUV is bigger). i never tailgate, always yield to pedestrians and cyclists, and try to be careful and courteous when driving either the MINI or the SUV. i would remove the 'SUV' from this generalization. there are PLENTY of inattentive, self-absorbed drivers that aren't behind the wheels of SUVs...
motor on!

vegasdan- It is quite saddening to hear this, yours is the third story today where a MINI has been totaled, fortunately the MINI did its job and while the car was sacrificed you were spared, I hope you realize and are thankful for that. I hope that life may get "back to normal" as soon as possible for you.
HEY! Calm down, friends. This thread is not a sparring ring, but is about Dan's accident.
Dan, I am SO sorry about the wreck, but glad you were in Enery, who took the brunt for you. I hope that you feel better soon and can go check out the 06s that Agro mentioned...
Vegasdan--sorry to hear about your accident, glad that your MINI took care of you!

) be value in another perspective!
