My husband just bought seat covers for my MCS as an ealy b-day pesent. As much as I love heated leather seats in the winter, I just can't stand sticky leather in the summer.
One would hope that at $125 apiece, they'd come with instructions, but nooooo....
Paul( aforesaid husband) is very handy and can figure most things out. These covers however have him flummoxed and more than a lil peeved.

Has anyone bought these covers and put them on? Are there any after market covers that allow for deployment of the in-seat airbags and yet are easier to install?

Time is running out as warm( read "sticky, humid&quot weather is fast approaching. Any and all suggestions/help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance....

What kind of seat covers do you have?......Sheepskins?......Tweed?....Wet Okeles?....Beads?

The only seat covers that I know of that works with the seat air bags are the MINI accessory seat covers and ones custom made by Hawaiian Seatcovers.
Couldn't tell ya about ease of installation, tho :???:
Good Luck.

The seat covers are straight out of the 2003 MINI accesories catalog...the Panther Black Sport Seat Covers on page 20. One would think that since these covers were made by MINI for MINI seats , that they'd be easy to put on...right?

I'm curious about these covers. They're quite tempting here in Tucson. I suggest you call a few dealers and/or email miniusa about the installation.

Scroll down to my posts on this thread. I have pictures of Wet Okole seat covers that fit like a glove. Others have said that the heated seats work well with them on and they do have an opening for the side impact air bag to deploy. As far as the lumbar ****, I guess that you would have to reach under them to access it which would be a pain but can be done. Also you lose the pouches on the back of the seats.

An additional thought. The covers are custom made so the could probably request that an area be cut out so that the lumbar support **** will be accessible.

Just FYI....my husband finally got these on, after much wrestling, swearing and a few skinned knuckles. They were an absolute PITA to put on which took a long time and although Paul(husband) worked diligently to make them look as tidy as possible, their design doesn't allow for a truly smooth fit.

Do I recommend them? No...simply because of the difficulty in installing them and their fit and finish doesn't warrant their price.
Am I happy to have them? Yes...2 reasons....leather protection and the 1st really hot day we have, I'll be glad not to be sitting on scorching leather.
And...well...after all they were a gift....can't very well say no, can I?
