A sitz bath is one in which the hips and buttocks are put in water. It is usually used to promote healing and symptom relief around the bottom, such as for hemorrhoids

link

A daily "sitz" bath - Epsom salts in a warm bath. Sit in the bath for ten minutes to gain hemroid relief, longer if necessary. Sitz baths help to alleviate hemroid symptoms such as inflammation, itching and swelling. This is one of the most popular home remedies for hemroids.

I had just made up my mind to get heated seats on my next convertible, because the loaner from Moritz had them and they were fab!
I did not know that I was putting my rear in jeopardy -- doesn't regular fiber have something to do with this situation too?

LOL, I saw this post and LMAO. My grandmother always told me sitting on cold (cold wall, floor, ground, etc) would cause hemroids!!!

My wife tells me I can be a hemroid, but I never hear I would get one from heated seats.

Hemorrhoids...

:impatient I totally forgot about this post. This was a serious post after speaking on Skype with some friends stationed in Belgium. The source is definitely credible...

but I don't know if it's causal or simply a correlation/coincidence.

Unexpectedly, their MA make the comment to them to be careful because the heated seat can cause hemorrhoids - they because they apparently were just recently suffereing from them without any other known cause.

For what it's worth...

Greg

on a similar note, my wife always tells me to shut off the heated seats ( I like the heat on for my back and my sore upper hamstrings)...seems that she is worried about the electro-magnetic energy causing cancer....prostate cancer runs in my family...several years ago there was all the rage about electromagnetic energy from power lines, from electric blankets, etc causing cancer, but you don't hear too much about that these days....anyone have any thoughts on this?

How dare you attempt to make this thread respectable!:impatient
At least in New South Wales, don't fear the seat heaters.

I'm not afraid of them either... you can get them from simply sitting too much as well, ask just about any long distance truck driver and they will tell you... so how can you tell if you got them from the heated seats or simply from being in the seat too much...

either way, life happens, go to the doctor, get them fixed, and motor on....

I think you can avoid the Roids with the heated seats by making sure you're wearing pants while motoring!
