Wow, There are a lot more young people on here than I realized. And a lot of you belong to the "spoiled brat kid" club, myself included...and proud of it! haha

Just don't include me in that club. I am a full time student and work a 40 hour work week.

Danged puppies!
I got my first MINI at age 49. Now looking for #2 at age 50.

I was at the MINI dealer today and there was a couple picking up their new car (MCSC). He was at least 80 (and looked like he would be comfortable with a walker) and she wasn't far behind, although more spry.
The looks on their faces as they looked at their new car led me to think that they thought they were 18 again.
It's the car, I'm tellin' ya!

I'm not sure if i fall in the 'young' category any more at 25. But I'll be getting my first mini (and first new car) in March when the `07's roll out.

I'm 25 too... and heck yes we fall into the young category... still young, but old enough to be cooler

I think it's very nice that some of your parents give you the MINI's... as long as you appreciate it, you know? You better make something of yourself to 'repay' them or something... hehe

If you were born into a wealthy family, you were born into a wealthy family. I was stoked to buy my mom's 1995 honda civic off of her for $2500 when I was 17... damn good deal.

I got my MINI as a 24th bday present for myself a few months ago. Most of my friends got their first cars after we all graduated from college. My parents got me a 2004 4runner after I graduated, but I kinda gave it back to them after a year cuz there was just no point in driving a big SUV when most of the time I drive alone. So I drove their '92 Pathfinder around while I waited for my MINI.

I like to think that I made the right decision..

I'm with you brother. My first was at 42 about a month ago (the MINI, not the birthday). I don't have plans for #2 yet. We'll see.

Turning 22 in Feb. Got the MINI a month ago. Young enough to love and drive like I stole it, but old enough to take good care of her. Kinda weird, huh?

That's one of the beauties of MINIs. There are people of all ages and lifestyles that have MINIs.

ETA, I got Dobby when I was 32, and I'm now 34 and motoring with my newborn son. Minivan? I don't think so.

I fully agree. I only put a few thousand toward my first MINI, but I also got full scholarships to college, so my parents haven't had to pay a dime (for tuition that is...). My MINI was my reward for that, along with not ever having to call them for bail and other such things.

When I first started driving I would have loved to be driving a car like a MINI. My parents did give me an old Volvo Station Wagon, for which I was very greatful but I'm glad I had to work my way through college and land a great job before I could get a MINI. There's something about the sense of accomplishment that makes me feel great for doing it myself.

$100 a month for insurance, yay for never getting any accidents or tickets and taking driver's ed and a defensive driving class and being a good student (who should be doing what good students do right now.)
$100 .. lucky you!!

I'm with spillman and rachelstarr on this one. I'm a 26yo full-time engineering student, full-time worker, husband, and mortgage payer with parents who aren't even CLOSE to wealthy! It's everything I can do to keep this car! Not that I wouldn't buy my kids nice things if I had the means(when I have kids), but the first sign of 'bratiness' would be the end of it. Well off is fine. Cocky and flashing your wealth around is dispicable. I think a lot of parents buy things like this for their kids because it lets them flaunt their success that extra little bit in their community. Maybe I'm a little off, though...
