The "Poo 1" Hummer was at a booth for this funky window tinting stuff that looks kinda like a silver mesh and makes the window basically unbreakable. I remember seeing the same stuff on a different car (Magnum?) last time I went, 2 years ago.
As for the Woody MINI, it might not be to your taste, but up close it was REALLY well done. Real wood, even the petrol tank door.

The Disco Benz: For those who just cannot let go of the 70's, survived the coke-induced 80's, cannot remember the 90's . . .and have the funds to put up the fight (because while coked-up in the 80s they were convinced by their delaer to buy stock in a company called Microsoft).
So now a Cooper can't have wood?

Here are a couple of the pics I took at SEMA. I'm not gonna post the almost identical pic of the disco ball Mercedes.
I don't remember the car, and the picture doesn't do it justice, but this paint looked like almost pure metal flake:

Here is the Woody MINI from the front:

and the other side (showing the petrol door)

Someone made a serious effort to do a custom badge (this car was outside the hall)

I don't know why so many of these cars look like they'd be SOOO uncomfortable to sit in.

Here's a lightly bastardised classic Mini with a 400hp V-Tec motor in the back end

And the motor

The same builder did this to a classic pickup. There is a V-Tec in EACH end of the vehicle. Check out all them gauges!!

And it had some pretty wild paint on it all round

But for my money, the wildest MINI was this one from Marine Turbine. Looks like a stock MCS. You can drive it as a stock MCS, with the regular supercharged engine driving the front wheels (still with v-spokes mind you).
Then open the boot and note the helicopter turbine engine driving the rear wheels. Say bubye to anyone following you.

My kids had one of these when they were little. I think it unfolded into some kind of robot.

I need a vomiting smiley here >>_
