Had another MINI Club Mexico meet today!
About 20 MINIs in attendance, including a few classic Minis.

Here's a pic of a few MCO Mexico forum members...(sorry about the picture quality, we'll post some better ones soon.)

From right to left: Calvin, SLegorreta, Chegamais, Chobe, and a dude from another tuner club who just wanted to be in the picture!

Hi Calvin,

I got to say that looking at some of the pics you have posted now and in the past makes me feel that much closer to Mexican life. Me being the ignorant American, I have visions of deserts, scary dark bars, and crappy cars. This is in no way meant to be a slur. I just think its cool to hear about MINIs across the world and how much alike we really are.

I hope this comes across as intended - Good.

BTW: Did you ever get a wire connected to your boot relese? If not I found where to connect it.

Miniack..
I'm glad that viewing some of these pictures has given you a better idea of life in Mexico!

It's a sad fact that many Americans picture Mexico as a barren desert wasteland where everyone rides around on donkeys and wears sombreros. A ride through Monterrey, Mexico City or any other big mexican city would absolutely blow these people's minds!...Ultra-modern Highrises, Enormous shopping centers, restaurants, nightclubs, sprawling upscale neighborhoods with five million dollar mansions and, of course, a Starbucks a couple blocks away from my apartment..

About the boot release cable, looks like my dealer might retrofit one after all...thanks anyway!

Calvin,

Chao,

MGCMAN

cool picture Calvin,

MCO members, what calvin didnt write about is that these 4 "donkeys" were roaming through mexico city at Italian job speeds and manouverability. Hence the MEXICAN JOB name to this picture, we were slipping through sunday drive traffic doing great combinations of passing, and preety much dancing in between traffic. At some point we would amaze the other drivers, and sometimes scare the big guys like a BMW M3, and other high performance cars that couldn't keep up with the ability to meander around traffic like we could with our nimble little sports minis. One of the big advantages of owning a mini in mexico is that we get to enjoy them to their true existance. High speed driving through the winding roads without cop problems, even if there were cops they wouldnt be able to keep up. Ah, the beauty of mexico, total freedom. Something I never had when I lived in the US. Oh by the way I just posted more pics of my mini on the member minis gallery, they are in page 223 and 224. The rally lights set up I came up with by not being happy with the ones that go on the upper grille(they dont fit the design of the car up there, they integrate much better below and dont take air away from the engine)

I love the color on my donkey, the combo white saddle, with electric blue body, and those white painted 17 inch toenails make it awesome. I specially like the 4 eyed look I gave it by installing 2 extra eyes on the lower grille. The only thing though, is that my donkey is a mutant, it has the strength of 163 stallions! hehehe. Hey calvin, send me the quality pictures through my e mail, I will send you the little amount of pictures I was able to take before the police at the parking lot prohibited us of taking pictures.
