My 2004 MC is my weekend car with only alittle over 10k miles and my 2002 is my daily driver with 37k miles. I tend not to put to many miles on my car. Ive almost had for 5 years...only around 7,400 a year roughly.

Ah, but owning a MINI makes you rich in other ways.

I consider the MINI a daily driver but try to keep the mileage down whenever possible. Picked up a '06 in Feb and put about 2K on it the first month because I was looking for any excuse to go somewhere. Currently has just a little under 6K. Drive a Ninja when the weather allows (pretty good "fun factor.") Plan on driving the Exterra when there is snow (not very often and zero "fun factor.")

BTW, wanted a "74 914 for 25 years. If any of you decide to sell?????

Use to be daily... an 05' with 32K in the first 17 months.

Now a toy and has only gotten about 2k in the past 6 months. It's actually a shame but work has been extremely busy and I haven't had the time to get away from the truck and into the MINI... now she is in a secret place getting secret things done to her and I will get her back at the end of the year.... mwa ha ha

No garage queen for me. It's a daily driver. I look for any excuse to take her out for fun.

I bought mine for a daily driver when the family needed another vehicle. Hey, it was MY turn. No garage queen either as I have no garage . . . . yet. First day at work it was termed "great mid-life crisis solution". "Wassat that mean?" I smirked. It has also become my hobby as the mods continue to methodically appear in appropriate order. I wouldn't call it a toy though as I couldn't get to work without it.

The original plan was to get a MINI as my 1st 'toy' (my turn -the dh has had enough!). But since the minute Luie & I got together in August it's been nothing but fun, and I've only driven my 'daily driver' about 5 days. He's garaged and pampered like no other car I've ever had. Just trying to decide which one I'll drive on rainy days... it's hard to stay away from that MINI!

Bottom line... both toy and daily driver

daily driver, delivered 11/03, now 41200 miles old

Will be my commuter until ??

I'm lovin' it so much, my plan is to buy another one ('09?) new (this time the JCW, or whatever they are calling the tricked out full warranty one at that time) and make the '04 a toy. In other words, keep modding it until I get sick of it, and towing the '04 to the track with my '09!!

Absolutely, got to agree with this.

If we have the choice, and -we gotta do it daily- why not the do things the fun way?
I just discovered a nice twistie-filled route home (last 20 miles), takes a bit longer than my usual but . . . so . .?

Life's short - Twisties are there.

My thoughts exactly!!

The response to this thread is overwhelming. Thanks everybody. This really confirms my feeling that our cars are destined to become classics.

My MCS is my daily driver & one fun ride. I bought it to replace another daily driver. It works great in that role. The big question mark for me will be how does it handle winter driving. I've got a set of Hakka's waiting for the snow.

Just got my MCS today--an 05 with 22k on it. What a blast already! Will use it for all but business trips--and may go ahead and take it on some of those too.

My 05 Jeep Wrangler is history!!

50% Daily driver and 100% Toy. IMO if you want a daily driver buy the 2007 MINI. If you want a fun toy that can function as a daily driver stick with the current model.

Daily driver & only car, but I think I am going to buy an old Honda Civic soon & use that as a daily driver. I have a 90mile daily commute and I decided that I would like to keep the MINI for a long time. Up until now I have bought a new car every three or four years. I would like to keep the Mini for at least the next ten years so it's time to find my first used car & just keep the MINI for fun. I must admit I'm tempted to buy one of those new Jeep Wranglers, but I don't think I can swing it.

I drove my MC as a daily driver for 2 yrs., before deciding to just show it. Then I got "serious" and bought an MCS and drive it daily, as well.
