Sorry to hear... I know I have been all paranoid about the first accident and all... I've had my car about the same length of time, and I've already had a nail in one of my tyres I had to get fixed... Just today I got my first 'scrape' on my wheels while backing out of the parking garage... grrr... luckily it's along the edge and not too bad, but still it's the first damage

I would feel bad too but unless the other guy was a JackA@@ I would try not to actually cal him that as accidents do happen. I caused one parking lot fender bender a few years ago and felt terrible as I never would have wanted to do that.

I've heard this before. Get a few estimates if you can in writing and make sure they pay for the work. Too many times people will say they will pay out of pocket and then take forever to pay or don't at all. Then it pays to just use the insurance.

I agree with this. Be sure you make a full report to your insurance and if necessary, (meaning if the damage is over the minimum amount required), make a police report, too. Often people say they will pay out of their pocket, and then they never follow through. Let the father deal with your insurance company. Good luck, Eddy!

Ouch! I'm sorry to hear about your MINI.
Coming out of my school parking lot the other day a car pulled out infront of on coming trafic and it caused a car to slam on its breaks and the 3 cars behind him to carsh into each other. I was on the opposite side of the action so I didn't get to see everything, but it looked pretty bad.

I wish your MINI a fast and safe recovery

get the police report or call your insurance to CYA. you never know.. once the bill comes in, they may have a change of heart... Good luck with the repairs.

Last week a client's dog jumped up on my door, scratching the paint. I wanted to kick the dog, but wanted to get paid.
When I took my Yorkie to be trained, the trainer told me about "sour apple spray", it doesn't hurt the dog but deters it from jumping up onto you or your car. I used mine a couple of times on 2 St. Bernards that a customer of mine owns and are determined to jump onto or into my mini. They now ignore my car. Just carry a spray bottle with you and spray em' in the face, they'll get a real surprice and a bad taste in their mouths to remind them of you. You can get it at Pet Smart.
