how much did you all pay for the installation of the alarm system? i am about to pick up my mini in about 3 weeks, and i as wondering if i could get a guess. if it is alot, would it be hard to install myself? does it come with instructions?

 

On the regular MINI, it should take the dealer less then an hour, so they should only charge you for a single hour at their regular rate (typically $100). For the Cabrio, there are more sensors involved, so expect to pay for several hours of labor.

If the dealer tries to charge more then an hour of labor plus parts, go elsewhere. Any dealer can install this, so you don't have to go to the one you buy your MINI from.

 

Just as my MINIAC above said the dealer should charge 1-2hours to complete the install. Labor rates varie from $90-105/hr. But if you want to wait and do it yourself then do it. Its easy and then just return to the dealer to have them program the computer.

 

Yes, the cabrio is a nightmare when it comes to installation costs...no doubt there!

just add an aftermarket Alarm I have a Viper LCD 450 and i had it all installed for $450. Way better than the factory Alarm!
