R50/53 Morning commute treat!
My parents' (who still live in MIA) neighbor's daughter has a white one. I hadn't seen it before I moved, but if you see one around the Kendall/South Miami area it might be hers, although I think they autoX it more than use it as a daily driver.
If you are interested, I can hook you up with a classic Mini importer/restorer here in Miami. He is a well known and respected member of the Mini community and this guy has the most beautiful Minis on the east coast. he can help you get the classic Mini of your dreams.
Send me a PM.

Kentiki, join us tonight at Hooter's in the Doral area (PM me for address) @ 8PM and you'll have a chance to meet some of the owners of these beautiful machines.
We have a TON of classics here in Miami and quite possibly, Minis of Miami has the highest membership of classic Mini owners of any club in the US.
Sergio Ochoa is the owner of British Sports cars in Miami and he is a long time charter member of Minis of Miami. Sergio can hook you up with the classic Mini of your dreams. This guy is super niceeee and has gained the trust and reputation in the Miami Mini community. I would buy a classic from Sergio with my eyes closed!
He is currently driving a gorgous 1978-79 Mini Clubman Estate in MINT condition and I mean MINT condition. Sergio just imported the car fresh from England and the car is near new condition. He bought it from the original owner who kept it in storage and used it sporadically for the better part of 20+ years. The car is perfect... seeing is believing. The car is currently up for sale.

I was in the area picking up a textbook at FIU during my lunch hour. Tons of new MINIs around campus but no classic sightings.
Check out some of the eye candy we have at our weekly meets:

Importing a classic Mini is not terribly difficult but finding a reputable importer and a quality car could prove to be more challenging.
These days lots of classic Minis imported into the US are being sourced from New Zealand.
In our club we have a couple of late 1990's Rover Mini's equipped with factory airbags, fuel injected engines and electric canvas sunroofs.
