I wonder how long it will be before a new Mini with runflats will be stolen so it cant be stopped by the Stinger, set up to stop the car by the Police. A stinger in the UK is a row of hollow spikes placed across the road to deflate the tyres to make the car undrivable. Is called a Stinger in the US.

There was some rumor that the NYPD had concerns over run flats. I think the conclusion was that a completely deflated set of runflats would be useless as you would not be able to go fast for long before they fell apart. Remember you are supposed to slow down to 50mph if that light comes on!

You cold always do a police persuit OJ style I guess!

After the batboy incident, I'm sure the authorities have been looking into the issue of MINI's w/ runflats being hard to stop

I have also thought about that same thing. If the person that steals the MINI takes it to the hills, and the "twisties" there will be no match there either.
