Driving classes

I've read threads where people suggested taking driving classes to improve skills, learn to drive more safely/defensively, and that it also helps lower insurance rates. Not your average "teaching the 15-year-old-to-drive" classes, but serious driving classes.

Where do you take these sort of classes?

Look up a local race track. They may have a school that teaches high performance driving.

That is what I did in Portland. The portland international raceway has a racing school. One of their courses allows you to take your own vehicle out on the track with an instructor. I learned a ton about the capabilities of my Mini.

SCCA Autocross events you can sign up as a novice and they'll take around a course with an instructor. I don't think you'll get an insurace drop but it's helpfull.

The former Derek Daley Academy in Las Vegas which is now American Racing Academy(http://www.racingschool.com/)

You can do a 5 day that is 2 days in a Z3 and 3 days in an open-wheel.

or just do a 2 day in the Z3.

Was awesome....

http://ports.americanindoorkarting.com/

my local one offers a driving class and the skills def'ntly scale up

Hey just Googled Moragn Hill, CA
- you're in San Fran Bay Area right?

Jim Russell Racing Schools is located at the Infineon Raceway, at the intersection of Highway 37 and 121 in Sonoma, CA.

http://www.jimrussellusa.com/theschool/directions.php

You are closer to a zillion school options than most of us ....

Infineon is what I knew as Sears Point at the north tip of San Fran Bay, the south tip of Sonoma country.

Go for it!
