I just found out that the 06 auto transmissions are having supply issues.

Is this true or not?

I ended up switching to a stick so I didn't have to wait to Dec/Jan for mine.

Anyone else hear about this. I tried a search but didn't find anything.

 

is true there was a bulletin send out to the ma telling them not to order auto trans.

 

Glad my MA didn't know this or pass that along to me when I ordered it.

 

Was this for the MC CVT or the MCS auto?

This probably makes sense. The CVT is out for 2007, correct? I believe the MCS auto is staying, correct?

Even if the MCS auto tranny is new for 2007, the CVT is probably the least popular transmission. With the coming conversion to the 2007 production, someone probably guessed wrong on how many of the CVTs would be needed yet for 2006.

Kinda like McD's running out of the apple pies a few hours before closing... they probably just tell you they are out instead of making some more...

Hmmm...when did this shortage start? My MC CVT was built 2 weeks ago and there was no delay.

I didn't mean to imply that the CVT was not popular. I'm just guessing (based primarily on what I read in these forums and with discussions with my MA prior to buying my MCS) that the CVT is the least popular of the four options. Or I suppose maybe it's the most popular right now, hence the supply problem???

In any case, I bet there is a Production Manager somewhere in England getting thumped for not forcasting correctly...
