I received a response email from JCW telling me that the rumors are true: There will be a conversion available through dealers, the first part of 2003 and there will be more information on their site in October. I'm not sure if this will be European dealers or North America as well. Anybody out there have better info on the special version? I know it's supposed to be around 200-210 hp. I'm supposed to place my order in September and am wondering if it might be worth the wait. Is JCW true to their word? Seems like a great company.

Thanks,

J.

Mini has never needed any help to put their name at the top of the charts when it came to racing. But, if you know anything about Minis historically... you will know that no one company did MORE for the Mini than JCW. I think we all can rely on their help to beef up our engines. No questions asked!
Motor On!!

Hell the name "Cooper" in the model MINI Cooper is from John Cooper. It used to meen your Austin Mini Cooper was a special model that had performance upgrades from JCW. BMW just uses the name now, but they are very tight with JCW and work closely with them. You can even buy a "Works Edition"MINI Cooper right off of JCW in England as a brand new car! Warenty and every thing! I wish I could do that here in Canada! In short I think its worth the wait. And I will be green with envy... a 200bhp CooperS WOW that will be nice. Indy blue and White please!

Indeed you can buy the Works S direct from JCW. I ordered mine last August, and I'm lucky to be about 3rd on the list, which means I should take delivery of my works S, direct from JCW in Janaury

Cheers

Michael

thanks Michael. Enjoy. I think I'm going to have to enjoy my standard Cooper S, which doesn't sound at all bad. If nothing else maybe I can do it up with some JCW after-market kit and make good an personal.

Thanks again,

J.
