Thanks for all the input - good info.
I can understand if you're a service oriented person and you don't get real service... The JCW suspension thing is completely crap (no pun intended!) You buy an OEM approved suspension and THEN you have to buy camber plates?? They SO should have resolved that problem. The other things would have driven me crazy, too. I'm 35 miles in the wrong direction to the dealer, and I only go when I have to.
I do like your attitude on it all - you pays you money, you takes you chances. Enjoy what there is to enjoy, and move on as appropriate.
Be seeing you in OT.

Chows: Please answer the repeated question, "What car did you buy after you sold your MINI?"

Thanks

Sorry, I didnt respond earlier, I had to get some pics done and had business appointments to handle.

I aint going anyway, love OT too much not to throw my verbose opinions in and if I can't argue with Dr. O, then life just wont be as much fun

UJ ... you KNOW me to well and we never met

Jeremy ... reliability does count, it doesnt hurt to get something rated way up the list

JeffSC ... Thanks, I just didn't have time to get pics done, work, etc and do it all last night. Is that a coincidence or what?

Sorry, I was so engrossed in making sure I could convey the MINI ownership thing, I didnt have time to get back here.

This wasn't the plan ... another long story ... but its how it ended up. We bought a Croc

All I can say is modded cars tend to break more than non-modded cars.

AWESOME CHOICE!

Enjoy the Cayman- if I didn't often travel with my dog on sporty trips I'd love to get one.

Give us a comparison in handling when you get some miles under it, as a fellow JCW owner I'd be very interested!

I guess that means "ChowsNOT4Cayman"? Good buy and a fitting replacement- that is definitely the sexiest 914-6 I've ever seen!

He already has one... and loves to talk about he saved money driving his SUV instead of his MINI, but using regular gas. I still think it's not quite true though (but perhaps closer than many people think... if I recall correctly it's a fairly small SUV).

Ditto... I'm wondering what the next car will be.

Maybe an Audi A3 for the dogs?

Thanks for the notes all. I hope some ppl can learn from my experience

RedRocket ... PM Sent

Ken/Edge, like Edge said, I got a Rav4. I think that is a perfect mix for us ... 4WD SoftRoader with room to haul stuff and a sportscar.

Clo. MODs I ain't buying mods for a bit ... (except maybe BT). I can't get XM which is a real bummer.

That's OK, SIRIUS is better anyway (unless you're an MLB nut).

Doesn't matter, can't get any Satellite radio.

So strange. Dealer says they sell it in their SUV but refuse to put it in the sportscars. People started to switch the headunits around (they are all interchangeable between models) and Porsche AG came down on the dealers and ordered them NOT to do any more installs Their reasoning is beyond me

Very nice car. Not a Cooper S, but it will do just fine. I've always enjoyed reading your posts here. I'm glad to know that you will still be hanging around, someone has to quote Danial Stern from time to time. We've never met, but I consider you a MINI friend. So because we are friends, I want you to feel free to come up to Hooterville & borrow my MINI whenever you feel the need. Of course that means that I'll be using the Cayman during those times.

Great car enjoy.

I think it just depends, so cars seem to have few problems, some have more. You just choose if you want to live with it or not. No biggie.
