Some input please. I asked my "to be" salesperson the answer to this but all he could do was agree with me it shouldn't happen.

I built 2 MC's (not to be confused with MCS's) online at the USA site. On one, I selected the Combo #2 package and LATER upgraded my wheels. It gave me a price. Price of X.

Next, I built a MC but instead of selecting the Combo #2, I picked the items individually and for my wheel upgrade, I chose the ones later on in the program that I selected with the first build. I gave me a price. Price of "less" than X.

Actually about $300.

Something appears amiss. When I told my salesperson what I was doing and my confusion over "what I would be getting vs what I would be paying", he told me he had a simple solution: They had removed the wheels from a number of MCS's already and they had a room full of them. He could just put those on for me for probably less than 2 grand.

How nice....

So, odds are I'm not going to get the answer I want at this point since they know I want the rims that they already have a glut of . Especially at the price.

So, I guess my REAL question is, am I doing the order program correctly? Can I really get the rim upgrade on my order just like the program builds? Should I check around for another dealership?

Sounds like a good bug. Save money, and print your cheaper version of the MSRP to the dealer and say this is what you want for this price.

On the other, good Samaritan hand, I'd call MINI USA and clear this issue with them directly.

Good luck.

Figured it out. The program doesn't "adjust" the package price when you do an upgrade on the rims.

The bit about buying them from the dealer just because they had them in the back for a couple of grand is something I'll pass on
