R50/53 aftermarket mini (stub) antenna - any consensus?

I bought mine on ebay for $10 shiped. It looks great and works well.

It would be neat if XM or Sirius came up with an antenna that could screw into the aerial hole rather than having the little square antenna mounted behind the aerial on the paint of the roof.
I imagine it's a frequency issue.

Alta is the antenna to get!

It fits great, and the reception is as good as stock.

Cut my stock antenna down to 7 inches today- perfect. No loss of reception FM or AM, no loss of $$$ out of my wallet. Thanks for the tip "Venomous"!

Same problem with reception with my Alta stubby antenna. In Springfield or St. Louis though, hardly any problems. I like the look though.
