Wow, this was an old thread revied. Started in August. Well, I had a MINI in August and my answer isn't going to sound the same as the rest.

My wife wouldn't let me take her car so I didn't get to drive it

I'll drive anywhere for any reason in my MINI. My wife knows it too.
41,000 miles, since June '05 and everyday has been a blast. MINIs On Top in New Hampshire this past June with over 200+ other MINIs to the top of Mt Washington. We had a blast!
I can't wait to get back to the Spring/Summer/Fall hand washing routine again. This Northeast cold blows as far as keeping "April" clean.

Too Many Miles !!

On April 15 my MINI will be 2 and I presently have 34500 miles !!! I can't stay out of it.

I'm retired so I no longer commute. I also own a Ford Escape and a Harley. But I will always opt for the MINI unless I'm hauling something or it's motorcycle weather, which for me is only from late May till early October.

Hence, the high milage, which has affected the trade in value, as I found out at 2 Mini dealers yesterday.

I love my MINI, I've never really pushed it to its limits, until a couple days ago when my friend showed me this canyon that nobody drives on, it was a blast!

As a single dude in a small town, I've gotten into the bad habit of driving everytime I get bored. Taking a country cruise in the MINI is much more fun and relaxing than TV...or even NAM. No offense. :P

The MINI is simply a blast to drive! I can't imagine driving anything but a MINI.

the weather is bringing me way down. I don't want to be out much when it's this cold. Once spring has sprung I'll be happier.

I picked up Frankie on December 29 and have enjoyed every minute of ownership (including NAM, which is a great side-benefit)!

Unfortunately, now I have the mod bug, so the great value of my original purchase is perhaps going to go out the window... But, after driving 5 cars over the past two years (long stories ), I agree with others, this car is a keeper!

Hey Stormcooper, is your car the same PW MCS that is in the NAM screensaver? I run that on my laptop and if that is your car, it's one of my favorite pics. I love the "stormcooper" concept.

Is it still fun? Absolutely.
In fact, I'm buying out my lease before the Dragon this year.
Why mess with a good thing!

I have to say, mine is infinitely more fun to drive since I paid it off two weeks ago. Just shy of 8k miles and nine months old. Now, what mods to buy next

I had Jake (the only 'car' I've named and pretty much what friends and family call him ) at the dealership yesterday for his 10K service (took delivery 8/23/06).

I had a rental for the day ('06 Mustang) which was pretty nice. At about 3:00 my SA called saying Jake was ready 'but don't hassle with rush hour traffic if you don't want to. You can pick it up tomorrow.' WHAT? I don't think so.

But, the part I relate to this thread is when I was waiting for them to bring him around, I was like a kid waiting for his Mom...or a Dad waiting for his son...I couldn't wait. Then up he zoomed and I just felt that smile come from within.

I can safely say, since having Jake, I never complain about 'driving' (now 'motoring', of course) and I also do many of the above including taking the long way and my new favorite - a Sunday drive. Ahhhhh....it's good for the soul.

Great thread!

PS I can't imagine not ever having a MINI. I truly believe I'm a 'lifer' when it comes to that!

Especially when there is a constant dash rattle (inside the airbag panel no less)
