When it's a beautiful summer day, and I want to go for a drive, we take my monster (V8) Miata. The rest of the time we go in the Mini . If we take our dog(s) with us I drive the Ford pickup...no dog hairs in the Mini!

Oh yeah, it is still fun to drive! I've been driving for almost 40 years and have had the pleasure of driving a wide variety of cars, including many top-enders. None of them has ever been as fun or pleasing as my MINIs have been! I enjoy it every time I motor...the grin is definitely still there...since August 2002! Great thread, Spidey!

I LOVE DRIVING MY MINI!!!

It has been 1 year 1 month and 20000kms since I picked it up, and every time I drive it, it is still so very satisfying! This is the only car I've driven where I feel so in tuned with what the car is telling me. I always know what it is gonna do, it just respond so well to every input.

The MINI isn't a fast car, but it is so much fun to drive round corners, I love it!

Mustang 302 motor, tranny and 7.5 rear diff. Custom drive shaft and axles. Fully modified suspension. Modified motor to 250 hp and 290 foot/pounds of torque. I cruise with two Miata buddies....one has a turbo and the other has a supercharger. I have no trouble keeping up with them in the twisties, and on the straight-a-ways.....

I would bet that on a VERY twisty road my Mini is faster....until we hit a straight-a-way!
By the way, the Miata's paint job (candy apple red) is 11 years old

Is it still fun to drive???

H*** YES!

I have never had a car that I loved MORE every time I get behind the wheel, or was as much fun to drive.

I have people asking all the time how fast my MINI will run. I have never found out and tell them that. I also tell them its not the fastest thing on the road, but is built for handling, not top end speed. I've gotten a few derogatory remarks from folks about how this car or that car is faster. I just make sure I tell them that anybody can go fast in a straight line, and "just how well will your car do in the twisties?" Usually, it gets quiet after that.

I love my car! When I go away on business for a week at a time, I'll find myself daydreaming about driving the car while I'm gone! Once I'm finally back and behind the wheel, I feel a huge sense of relief, like, "finally!!" I'm going to have to spend a whole month in China this winter, and the notion of being totally deprived of driving Toby for an entire month is absolutely dreadful, despite my enthusiasm for travel.

I can't imagine another car making me feel more satisfied, or being more fun to drive! Cooper forever!!

It's a car?? It's become part of my life.

Today this guy at work tells me: Hey I drove my neighbor's MINI last night for 20 minutes.

I saw the look in his eyes while he described his experience, how it looked, how it handled, the features, the word "wow" came up several times. I looked at him and kept smiling.

I tell him: so, now you know

I'm betting the next time he gets a car it will be more than a car. I know that look, I had that look, I wear that look every day.

I do a lot of business travel and if the distance (road miles) is 550 or so, I take the MINI. No security lines to go through, I keep my shoes on, and I can listen to whatever music I want to. Can't beat that. Woo-woo. And I try to take whatever non-Interstate roads I can. Our MINI is 3.5 years old and we have never looked back, just ahead and where does this road go?

My MINI and I are still just an October 2006 dream and I'm having MINI withdrawals. Can't even imagine what it will be like a year or two down the road.

I've only had my mini for a month, she is a 2004 MCS and I can't ever imagine getting tired of her!! Today she got her bonnet stripes and I had a loaner from the dealer, another mini, a 2006 MC but I missed my mini. I have her back and she looks so cute with stripes!!! I plan to spend the weekend driving to show her off!

Obie's been with me about 16 months, and I still get excited when I strap myself in just before a drive. In fact, this is the only car I've owned that didn't make me feel that I am missing something or somehow depriving myself when I drive instead of taking a motorcycle.

Ummmm it just does not get better than this! My MCS needs to be a real vehicle, not one that I take out and play with, so I am in it a LOT...and every time I just THINK about getting in it to drive I get excited! I mean, no one should have so much fun on expressway turnoffs!

My son goes to a camp for diabetic children in NH every year and it only made sense to take the Durango - Saw an MCS getting on the ferry- cute- pepper white- (the mini, didn't notice the driver LOL) and I was SOOOOO jealous! I should have followed them in mine

The best news is that the hubby still hates it! So, leave him to the Durango! I have not been in it except for the camp runs since acquiring my Mini.

Ha, that is soo true for me. My dad owns an '01 S4, but he doesn't drive that often as he used to, so now my parents want me to have the job of driving it about every week, just to keep the battery all charged up. the S4 also just got back from a much needed repair for an Oil leak, Oil change, new battery, reprogramming the key, fixing the engine seal and some other things. Now it runs and purs like my dad remembers.

And even though the S4 has AWD, more power and will out handle and be faster than my Mini, I prefer driving Egan. Perhaps if the S4 were a Stick it would be more fun to drive, but my dad wanted anyone to be able to drive it which is cool I think.

Back to the topic.

Ever since I got my Mini back in July, I've loved every minute of it. There are times though after I've driven it I get this feeling that the Mini isn't all that it's cracked up to be. I would sometimes feel I should've got the GTI instead. But the next day I take Egan out and my worries are long gone and I go and think, "Yup, this was the right choice."

What do you do if you hve $150M and your choice of any car in the world. Well, of course, you drive a Convertible MINI to work to save on petrol, so that there is some left for the next generation.

See the Washington Post Magazine Chinese article for February 18, 2007. I know that if I had $150M, that is what I would do, except that I would have a different MINI for each day of the week, but I would not be driving it to WORK for durn sure.

I'm retired and work part time for a Co. that sends me out as a fill in driver around the country to pick up repair parts from cable co. They will fly me to where ever but I choose to drive and take the Mini a, 06DSMCS. I'll drive up to a 1000 miles one way as I would rather drive the Mini 14Hours than fly two. I guess it's kind of dumb but I love to drive. My first Mini was a 04MC which I bought new and sold 14 months later with a little over 36000 miles on it. They pay all my traveling expenses so all I have is wear and tear on the car.....and my body.

I got my MINI Aug 19th 06. Put 6000 miles on it since, and thats with it being in a body shop for 42 days. So thats 6000 miles in just about 4.5months. So I woulds say, YES it is still fun to drive my MINI.
