I have the piano dash on my '06 Cooper, and flat love it - even the circles. I opted for the anthracite headliner, gray/dark gray leatherette & chromeline dash and wouldn't change a thing. As to fears of scratches or smears - no problems at all. How often to you have any reason to smear your fingers over the dash, or bang something against it? Maybe I'm easy on my car, but except for wiping the surface down occasionally with microfiber towel dampened with detailer - no maintenance, no worries.

I think that the piano dash looks GREAT with the chrome interior bits. I think that the black really makes the chrome pop. I have a HB interior without the chrome and I think that it looks good too. I just can't see spending the $$ at this point.

She's got NAV in it. We saw the dash at the NY auto show in a red cooper and she loved it.

The reasons for the circles are that it is actually a part of a series 7 limited time production car like the checkmate.Hence the 7 circles.

click on MINi Seven Panorama and then interior.
That is true... although there are only 6 circles, not seven

Also, you ordered the anthracite headliner right? That is whey the pillars and headliner are dark?

AAAAAHHHH . . . . . the limitless possibilities of classic BLACK.

Shall we gather around the ol' PIANO?

Sorry, yes, only 6 circles.
No anthracite headliner. Standard(light grey), we looked at one at a dealer and she said it would look too dark with the black/grey interior.

I have heard that in England there is an option of the complete "Seven" interior that includes seat upholstery that also has the circles embroidered into it. This makes more sense and I wonder why this option is not available for U.S. Minis.

We aren't allowed to talk street racing here. You might try asking for a "piano walk" . . . I saw a Steinway fall once.

Very smart looking dash
Are the rings peelable decals or something more permanent?

Ah darn. I think I might add it, I do not know. The price difference is miniscule for already buying LSD/DSC/chrom ext/chrome int/ an MCS in BRG/BRG, Anthracite headliner and dash... with Black Leatherette......

BUT! Although his photo's look cool, I am worried that piano black is too high of a contrast. Also, how delicate is the interior? YOu never know packages or whatnot that might bump the front or something right? Too bad dealers have so many cars yet none with the cooler details. At least mine has what I have ordered now, the anthracite lower with chromeline. None had the headliner anthracite, but just logic tells me in car like I built, darkness rules it.

Any input on the total look of the black dash and side trim as being too high contrast and choppiing up the original look?

I know the photo's look pretty, but the car lacks black to tie in as such a highlight.

Convince me im wrong !! I love Gothy things

This thread has convinced me to add Piano Black to my MCS order! It is beauuutiful!

So, the options are now LSD and Piano Black. The longer I wait, the more tempting it is to add things to the order. I better stay off this forum until I take delivery.

Don't know if you've ordered already or not, but i've seen the piano black dash in a car with the anthracite headliner and i think it looks great. Then again, I'm partial to a "darker" look overall. The car I've ordered has a black roof and I think the anthracite headliner and piano black look great for a car with a black roof.

You are right... my only concern is will the black dash and door ovals be more prone to scratches and showing scratches. I am worried about that... I guess I'll just have to be super delicate.
