you know umberto, youre not going to get anything going without proof that there is interest in your product. I worked and grew up in retail as both of my parents own their own businesses, so ive got a couple tips for ya that I've learned from my parents.

First, get a patent. It most likely wont do anything initially, but it is a very good help when you take it to court. And one thing about patents and ideas in general. Youre not going to have to worry about them unless either your idea is revolutionary (im sorry but a different kind of sunshade just isnt), or your business is reaching the million dollar mark. People in the industry with the money to make this stuff are more likely to reject an idea like this rather than try to steal it. And the asian rip-offs dont start taking and producing until you have at least a million dollar business. Btw, this happened to my dad, so yeah, its about a million.

Second, starting making it yourself. some of the best companies in the country have been started my someone making it in their basement and going around pitching their idea to retailers.

Third, if the volume demand is high enough, THEN look into inquiring for a manufacturer. No people with any money are simply going to take your word for this being a great product (but you still need to have a good pitch!), you need to impress them with demand, and show them how you can't do this on your own. If they feel like they are needed, they will feel like they will profit, aka: youve got a manufacturer.

hope this helps, and hope im not too pessimistic, I'm just trying to help you with some real life knowledge that youre going to run into whether you like it or not.

This doesn't really deal with the commercial part of it, but its a great read and everyone should read this if they are into inventing. Sorry, its about aero engineering (my field), just ignore that fact, trust me this is true for all inventions.

The guy that wrote that designed the F-22 and B-2, so hes no chump.

yeah, your right its not retractable, but from what I see on their website, it looks like it folds up and fits inside its own pouch. my friend just ordered one for his cooper today, from ebay. it looks very neet. if his looks good, ill definately pick one up myself.
