Hey,
just wondering what the strangest thing people have done while you were driving in your mini. People still are asking me what it is, and honking there horns to give me a thumbs up, but the best one was when the person next to me fell behind me, and when they pulled up next to me again, they took my picture.

I tried to take a picture of my MINI, reflected in silvered Oil tanker truck, while I was driving on my way to a MINI meet at Disney. And I failed! I turned the camera off by pressing the wrong button. (I was trying to drive at the time remember!) So I figure That's both Strange and Stupid.

Do I win a Prize?

My favorite comment was one I received on my way home from picking up Celeste:
I pulled into a gas station in Mississippi, next to a dude already filling up his monster style truck. The filler on his truck was at the level of his head! I answer 'it's a MINI Cooper'. This answer is met with apparent deep consternation expressed with chewing being resumed with renewed vigor. . Just as I get ready to leave he stops chewing and states:
'yup, there ain't nothin' big 'bout it, that's for sure!'

or when they ask you wether it's electric
in particular, if they ask you this while you are filling up at a gas station!!

My reply is: 'no, it's nuclear!'
most common response to that: 'noooo, reaallllyyyyy?'

Yeah last Friday night my wife and I and a friend of hers are driving to our favorite restaurant and 3 young ricer boys pulled up beside us at a light and they are revving the motor and trying to get me to race I smile at em and rev a tiny bit, and smile somemore. Of course they blast off while I liesurely come up to speed. So at the next light they wait for me and I pull up and they are still fascinated, and then I notice the boy in the back seat is videoing us with his digital camcorder. Ahh what is the deal with yuppy parents getting their kids these nice practical Japanese cars and turning them into goofy cars.

Went to pick up something at a community college nearby. It has sprawling parking lots everywhere. I parked a bit away from any other cars, and quite some way away from where I had to walk to. I had walked all the way across the lot, was 20 yds or so down a walkway, headed between buildings. Suddenly I hear behind me,"Excuse me." I turned back, and there was a pickup truck which had apparantly been tooling around the lot while I parked. The guy leans out a bit,"Is that your MINI?" When I nodded my head, he smiles,"NICE car!" Hard to ignore that level of notoriety!!

My Pepper White/Black has fairly dark window tint and with the black wheel well trim and the black rocker panel trim it sets up quit a contrast. One evening as I pulled onto my street and headed towards my driveway I noticed my wife and a neighbor friend sitting in the front yard talking, and it was her friend's first look at "Pepper" and she remarked to my wife "It looks like a double stuffed Oreo cookie on wheels"

The opening question opened itself up for that reply from CooperSpeed. I was surprised it didn't happen sooner.

In my Classic Mini, I am always asked if it is hard driving on the right side of the car.
