Suggestions on purchasing a new MINI
Hello everyone,
I am looking at buying a new Mini. I was interested in hearing from other Mini owners who purchased new Mini's if paying MSRP was reasonable? I am in New Mexio and have a few options were I purchase: Dallas, TX, San Antonio, TX, and Albuquerque, NM. The one dealer I am currently working with sells at MSRP. Is this wise or is it common practice to sell Mini's below MSRP? Any thoughts are welcome.

Extremely common to sell at MSRP... uncommon to get it less MSRP. There are a few out there, but you usually have to take off the lot. Custom build, it's not very likely to go below. It's actually nice in a way since it's (usually) a very pleasant buying experience and you don't have to feel like you are battling for a fair price. Dealers usually throw in freebies like floor mats, hats, t-shirts or free installation on some accessories - it depends on the dealer. Alot of places out west actually are ABOVE MSRP due to the demand...
They are the #1 resale value right now, and hold their value really well. Some people in the past have even had equity in their cars! I don't know how the 07 models will affect resale of the 1st generation, I guess only time will tell, but I don't think it will be horribly drastic!
Anyway, welcome to NAM and good luck with deciding which dealer to go with!
