Are you not sick of popcorn yet? You are "chowing" down on it in multiple threads.

Good point, how did I let myself get sucked into this! This usually never happens to me... (almost ashamed to say that I moderate on two different forums). Pass me the popcorn.

OMToast, start a new thread and Iwill be happy to reply.

Tewebb, I hope that you get your situation resolved soon. No MINI whould come with chipped paint and you certainly should not accept a touch up. Sounds like you need a new dealer.

Sick of Popcorn? Sacrilege There are multiple, long running threads with arguments going on that aren't going to be resolved on this board Sometimes just reading them is more fun than participating That way, your blood pressure doesn't go up!

It looks like tewebb's problem is on the way to being resolved.
P'raps we should depart to another thread full of conflict and irreconcilable (sp?) differences. A popcorn thread.

Just what is the best popcorn to consume and exactly how much is too much popcorn for someone owning chows to chew?

Buyer Beware (Update)

WOW How this thread went from a problem with a dealer to airbag's I sure hope he gets his problem resolved. First I would like to thank everyone for their concern and input. Got a call from Amanda (that Monday) and she understands that I am not real happy with the damage on the MINI and the lack of concern and service I received from her Manager. The hatch had been damaged either at the Mfg or VDC and was painted without baking out the blend line. The clear coat was still wet to the touch. I could also see a sanding shadow in the base coat under the clear coat. The Manager, whom I guess is also speaking for the dealership refused to have that fixed. Who ever buys that car will have a problem in a very short period of time. This would have never came out without being repainted. I have done paint/body repairs everyday for the last 5 years for a major car Mfg located in Alabama. I know what can be touched up or has to be repaired and painted and what is a bad repair. The passenger door would never be the same. It would be a miracle that the door colormatched the rest of the body. If I had to guess on how they have the door fixed for $300 (per the Manager) I would guess the body shop uses a filler to fill the chips and then wet sands the filler and then lightly covers the filler with base coat (pure silver) and then spray's air dry clear coat over that. Would anyone out there except this car?? I recieved our deposit back today from Hank Aaron Mini. I'm very happy about that. I have also posted this information on the BB at work, which has about 4900 associates, to let them know what happened to me at this dealership. There is no MINI dealers in Alabama. Atlanta is the closet two dealer's. Many of you recommended Nashville MINI. Well, I called John Monk at Nashville MINI and I have the same MINI S on order. John seems to be a super guy. He even had read my thread on the forum. John took care of everything on the MINI web-site and confirmed our order and got it in within 24 hours Hopfully it will go into production very......soon. My wife is heart broken over this. Just like most of you she waited 6 weeks for her MINI to come in and then this happened. Again thank you for everyones input and advise. I feel good about John Monk and I am sure we will get treated in a more understanding and professional way than we did at Hank Aaron MINI. By the way, here is the VIN#of the Pure Silver MINI S that was damaged VIN# WMWRE33526TL24718

MiniMeg:

Thanks for removing the advertisement for a lawsuit from each response.

Your last post was more appropriate because it stated, objectively, your concerns.

People have made legitimate points regarding when a airbag (or sensor) should activate. What is the minimum weight, how accurate should the sensor be, etc.? That debate is beyond my technical ability.

To those who don't think any negative comments about MINI's are acceptable on this site:

My primary objective, when visiting this site, is to learn about others experiences. As a owner of a '06 MCS, I am glad to hear nearly all of those experiences are positive however, I think hearing about problems other MINI owners have encountered makes me a better MINI owner.

At 4K, there have been zero (000) problems. Purchasing, owning, driving a MINI has been, by far, my best experience with having a new vehicle.
