Paperwork was messed up when I went to pick up my car today, and the fact that this transaction has not gone to well, the manager said "pick a Mini accessory and I will give it to you free". I wonder if he has a number in mind, but he did not say.

I was thinking of the IPOD USB connector in the glove box. Any suggestions? (I am already being given the floormats)

Thanks!

Windblocker if you have a convertible, or maybe some fog lights or if that's too steep, I love my Mini Cooper Alarm clock

JCW and aero kit! Why didn't I think of that? Great ideas however.

Driving lights are $400, but I am not sure about the look. Any opinions?

I amy just ask for the IPOD USB and a couple of jackets. If he says just one, I will ask for the driving lights, and see what happens.

I was offered a "$800 ding warranty" for paintless repair for 3 years, but that is a sucker's bet, it's not that much to call them down.

If you don't have an armrest, get one. It makes the long rides much better.

Sorry for your troubles, but I guess I am a bit of a dope, and really love this car. Trading a very troublesome low mileage 03 MCS on the 06. So I had my chance to run.

You mentioned the "IPOD USB"-- is that the AUX Input or the integrated iPod kit (that lets you control the iPod w/ your head unit/MFSW)? If the AUX Input, I wouldn't use my "free spin" on that, but as for the "kit"- Go for it!

2cents...

How many miles did you end up putting on your 03 Red? Are you going to drive the new one more?

16k. I had to get rid of it because the tires were showing some wear.

It is not my only car, and gets used pretty much for fun drives. But I sure hope I put way more miles on the new one. Especially if I lose my job next week!

How is you repair going?

The iPod adapter is a good choice... Driving lights are another...

If anything, have him spit out a number and get a gift certificate!!

Hmm, iPod adapter is good (I like it routed to the Euro Parcel shelf myself tho ), alarm is nice to have, driving lights would be a good deal since that install is harder (I think) then the above two which are pretty simple DIYs, auxilary gauges (I have the ones under the toggle and really like them, but there are also other OEMs that go near the steering wheel), painted aero kit would be a great value to get for free, upgraded wheels, JCW brakes/suspension/CAI/or exhaust.... I could keep going

Sounds great, but I bet I get a couple of T shirts!

Your not going to get a JCW TC or even driving lights ($800 installed).

Think "accesory", not performance parts. dont forget if they have to install it its MUCH more $$$
  • boot box
  • cool bag
  • euro shelf
  • glove box organizer
  • mirror caps
  • roof graphics (may be too much in labor)
  • door sills
  • arm rest
  • cup holder
  • saddle bag
  • boot net
  • CD visor holder
Personally, I got for something very useful like the OEM BT set knowing full well its too expensive and settle for the Euro shelf

That's what you would think, but I was offered a "$800 ding warranty" for paintless repair for 3 years. Of course that would cost him as much as a hat, I figured ask, what the heck.

My car is done, and they actually did a great job on the repair. It was major, but well done. I took it on a fairly long drive up to the mountains with losts of twisties. Tracked firm on the freeway and handled great in the curves.

My drivers side window needs a small adjustment but that's it.

I read the title of this post and immediately thought JCW!

Good to see I wasn't alone. Sigh, I am sure that is not what he meant.

Glad to hear you have your car and all is well.

First choice would be the iPod adapter. Then you have a reason to get an iPod if you dont already have one.

Second would be the armrest.

I seriously doubt the dealer will spring for the Aero Kit, or any JCW stuff.

I have a LONG comute (64 miles one way) and I wish that MIB had the arm rest.
