I've read a lot lately about S.Mc. racing his MINI around L.A. late at night. It figures the coolest guy ever would drive the coolest car ever! Anybody know where I might find a picture of Steve and his MINI?

Rent the movie Bullitt to see him in action. He did the driving stunts and it has one of the best car chases ever.

Which scene is better (Minis aside) - the chase scene in Italian Job, or the chase scene in Bullitt. Remember, the cars can't make a difference I'm talking about pure car choreography

... nice as that Mustang was, Bullitt had the same sequence over and over - just different camera angles ... So I gotta go with Italian Job (no suprise there!)

... and, Yes, He's dead, but he bought cars from John Cooper ...

I see, he was driving classic Minis. I've heard urban legend that he liked to take a car like the Mini or a VW bug and trick it out with a Porsche engine, then shut down the muscle cars he found on Ventura Blvd.

I'm from where Bullit was filmed, and they might have had a couple of takes of the same corner being taken by the different cars during the sequence, but it was in no way the same sequence over and over. They covered some serious territory in that chase- it's legitimate. Another sequence to consider for inventiveness that's much newer- the new Bourne Identity- that little Mini absolutely rips it up. It has one little shot of just the steering wheel Mini logo- beautiful.
