R50/53 Tail of the Dragon
Yeah, there's a group of us going the first weekend in November. Traffic should be lower, and weather should be beautiful! The Porsches will be there, too. Should be alot of fun, we hope to see alot of you there!

Keep me posted on the November group. If there is a thread, then I'm just dumb. It's only about 2hrs from here and I ran it in a 1995 Impala last time and thought I was going to die or kill someone trying...
The weather is supposed to be great next week and weekend around here. I may try and head up there next Saturday if anyone is interested.

p.s. I love bumping 3 year old threads.

Yeah, Southern_Candy....please be sure to let us know about the Dragon.
Check out the National Events forum here on NAM.....
It's the mass of other cars blocking every possible way that is the problem-Atlanta traffic sucks-the city grew much too fast to keep up with the demand. I see your from NY and you know traffic but Atlanta is worse, sorry.
How long it takes to get to the Dragon from here certainly depends on where you are coming from and when you leave. Our traffic is HORRIBLE. I know people like to one up each other but I've driven in LA, Chicago, NYC, DC, Dallas, Miami, Philly... I could keep going... and I know bad traffic. LA was the worst but Atlanta is catching up, sadly. Though I did vow to never drive in DC again, that place made me crazy.
If you are working on the far north side of town, it will knock a huge chunk off of your drive time. The weather channel is right downtown though, pretty close to my office. If you leave against traffic and then go up 75 to 575, 3 hours at the most. It's the most boring way to get there but the fastest.
We take different ways and always hit up the more intersting roads on the way and live on the north side so it's usually about 3 hours for us. We've done it in 2.5, maybe a little less, late at night and driving straight there and back.

If you get a choice try to find something near on of the marta lines-like in Dunwoody- you could hop on the marta into downtown and skip the traffic all together!
I hear you on the LA traffic Jenn-hit that at a bad time and yikes!

But MARTA doesn't go to the Dragon
