I apologize if there's another link somewhere about this...I didn't have time to go thru each post.
For those of you who bought your Mini...what was the finance rate?
I'm about to plunk down some green for my new Cooper and the dealer said the finance rate was
5.7%. Seems a little high to me. Anyone?

I got the MINI select and have excellent credit and ended up with 6.9 %. Of course the MINI select is going to be higher than regular financing

Thanks, guys...I haven't even had a credit check run yet (though I predict it will turn out fine).
The dealer said that 5.7% was pretty much the standard interest rate, unless of course your
credit is horrible.
BTW, were you able to negotiate the ticket price at all? I had absolutely no luck...he said flat out
that the price was the price. No room to adjust.

Mine was 4.59% through Mini/BMW. I told them I got 4.69 through my credit union. They wanted to avoid sending me the purchase order I needed to process that, so gave me 4.59% to process through BMW....which went to Chase Bank.

I got 5.7% but didn't haggle. They let me out of my lease to buy it and I save $2500 in lease finance charges. I'd HIGHLY recommend going through BMW b/c there are a lot more option available to you. Assuming you can get a good rate. But 5.7% is a great rate from a dealer on a hot car.

5.7% is not too bad. A few months ago I qualified for 4.9%.
If you shop around, you may find some lower than 5.7%, and see if BMW/MINI Finance will match.
As for me, paid cash borrowing from credit card at 1.9% (another story on another thread)
No haggling allowed....MSRP, but managed to get a few "freebies" for my efforts

I have perfect credit and was able to get a 4.49% thorugh PeopleFirst.com

On-line app / They email you next day / You call 'em same day / If all goes well they ask you when you want your blank check - easy way to get through the purchase process.

If you are a member of a credit union you should be able to get a pretty good rate through them.

Peoplefirst and lendingtree are good ideas too.

I decided to finance through my dealer after they beat my Credit Union's 4.6% rate. My dealer is giving me 3.74% which is through Citizens Bank. How can I beat that for a MINI? I can't.

I have not purchased my MCS, but will in a couple of months. I found out that if you have a Costco Card Membership. They have a deal with PeopleFirst. The card will get you a few more tenths off of the already low percentage that PeopleFirst offers. I'll probably go that route if the MINI dealer won't match their rates.
