I have about 3000 miles left on the factory warrantee for my 2003. What issues should I be looking for to be addressed by the service department? Are there some common complaints for these cars?

I need to get the recline fixed on the passenger side. Is this a common one or is it just mine?

The gas door seems kind of loose. Is this normal?

 

[SIZE=1]Hope this helps. I have been super dilligent about keeping my MINI up. I camp out at my MINI dealer to make sure the work gets done. The final 50K repair was a big dealer so I waited there all day. The next week I had a pulley and some other good stuff added. Good luck!


After three different visits to the MINI dealer all 11 things were fixed at the 50K mark under warranty:
1. rusted out rear bumper light sockets.
2. hanging rear exhaust
3. inoperable windows
4. squeaky sunroof
5. inoperable a/c due to coolant loss
6. inoperable door pulls
7. new glove box and new lock
8. front and rear brake service
9. oils, wipers, and fluids (they forgot there was no coolant in the reserve tank but I caught them)
10. loose exterior trim
11. reflash of car to eliminate stalling (version 58 I think)
12. I forgot to ask them to attach the power steering fan cage to keep out plastic bags
It took a significant investment of my time, but off warranty these repairs would have cost thousands!
