R50/53 Your first MINI accessory
I got the oem I-pod adaptor installed before delivery so I could listen to boomkat"s "The Reconing" on the way home. (the song from the Italian Job when she is driving the original mini. Then I got the blue colored gear shifter, then the black rubber floor mats, then window tint all the way around, then the black rubber rear cargo protector, then the sun screen, the blue e-brake handle, and next will be the 15% pully by Randy Webb at the MITM event!!!!! I CANT WAIT FOR MORE POWER!!!!!!!!!
My first was the stereo AUX cable, so I could use my iRive rMP3 player, followed by a pool-ball shifter **** (#13, the orange striped one), boot stripes and magnetic racing "gumballs" for weekend fun.
I'll be adding "angel eyes" Hella driving lights next month and I'm in the market for a set of the basic "holey" rims (still the best-looking wheels for the Mini IMHO) so I can get a set of snow/all season tires for the colder months.
After that, I'll probably do some minor things like change the clear city lights for orange and maybe one day replace the tail lights with smoked, round-lensed ones (whenever they come out for 05s and 06s that is).

The first night: Glove box organizer went in.
The first weekend: installed the factory alarm, iPod adapter, and AUX input.
The second weekend: MINI valve caps, Reflective Red warning stickers attached to the doors,
Still in the planning stages: Aero grills, Magnetic rock guards, MINI rear and side sun shades, Canadian MINI floor mats, rear diffusor

Well, I don't have my baby yet (any day now!) but have been busy shopping for mods (mostly decorative in nature. I know. I'm shallow). Here 'tis:
Before I pick her up:
tint
clear bra
sport stripes
floor mats
boot mat and mat to cover rear seats when folded down
In boxes/envelopes in my house:
Euro parcel tray
Grill badge holder and badges
Actual size sticker
Cool contacts from stoopidgirl
On order:
Various wash, wax supplies
Custom vinyl sunroof flag from Cooper flags (designed it myself)
To be ordered next week:
Aero grill
PIAA driving lights
Wet Okole seat covers
Whew. I need to quit shopping. But it's just so fun!

I drove away so excited, I forgot to make sure I got my free floor mats. Oh well, at least I have it in writing that I should get them. I'll be back this weekend and I'll pick them up.
I transferred the Light In Sight cling from my old car's windshield and I ordered a Go Mini Go No Holes license plate bracket.

The first accessory I got was a magnetic grille badge for my local MINI club. Next were two grille badge holders, and then the No Holes license plate bracket from Go Mini Go. This weekend I picked up a piece of gutter guard for the hood scoop grille mod, and a California Duster. I plan on getting the John Cooper signature body badge and maybe some small "Supercharged" badges for under the side markers.
My accessory list(stuff not on car when bought-in order):
Bonnet stripes(OEM)Bought when we adopted Gromit, installed 3 days later
Aux Input(actual first accessory, installed a week after adoption)
Rubber Boot Mat
Glove Box Organizer
Cupholder(Downtube mount)
MINI Logo Valve Stem Caps
European Plate
Cooper Contacts
Custom Stripes (Black w/chrome pinstripe)
Not installed yet: Stoopidgirl's Dragon Eyes
Yep, I know I've really gone crazy with the mods!

Hehehe... yeah, we might buy a magnetic grille badge holder at Outmotoring after the Mini breakfast this Saturday. We've seen some really fun ones online, and I'm buying a sheet of magnetic sheeting at **** Blick's later this week for another project that I hope to use for some custom badges.
I had a skid plate waiting for my new mini to show up. With mountain biking, backpacking, climbing and snowboarding being favorite sports, I didn't want rough dirt/logging roads ripping up the fragile bits on the bottom. This mini has probably been on more dirt, mud and snow then 90% of SUVs...
Mats
Since I ordered a Union Jack license plate frame and aux input when I ordered the car, I guess my first accessories were the rubber floor mats my son bought as a welcome-home gift for the new MINI. (A nice gift indeed, when picking up a MINI in Colorado in February!)
Since then there's been a glove box organizer, U.J. tire valve caps, and several psudo-accessories such as road atlases and a green rain poncho in case of foul weather tire trouble. Still thinking about adding driving lights, a center backup light and a euro parcel shelf.

I picked up my shiny new 2006 MC S today! (yay!) And while I anticipate many posts and photos in the coming weeks, my very first accessories/mods on the new MINI (that were not ordered w/ the MINI, but handed over the parts counter) are:
Magnetic Grill Badge
Car Cover
Sunshade
FWIW- ordered w/ the MINI:
Chrome Exhaust Tips
Rubber FLoor Mats
Bumper strip
If I were not so dead tired, I'd be even more stoked! Scratch that- I'd be out motoring right now!

Ditto on the Union Jack valve stem covers. I couldn't resist. Since then:
Harmon Kardon Drive + Play
Rubber "S" logo floormats/bootmat/Extender
A few chrome pieces for the speedo, tach and center air vents
2 union jack umbrellas to go in the cubby on the driver and passenger doors
Roof wrap that has yet to be installed. It is the HARDEST thing to wait for!
