2005 vs 2006

While I await the arrival of my 2006 MCS, I have been going over the online owner’s manual, which is for the 2005. (Why is there no 2006 ?) Anyway I notice that the 6-speed auto is not mentioned. This makes me think that it is new for 2006, is this correct and if so, what other differences are there on the 2006?

The auto transmission began in the 2005 MY production as of Jan 05 (when a bunch of changes were introduced).

Functionally I do not think there is any difference between 2005 Minis produced as of January 05 through the 06 models.

Are those mid 2005 changes? Does anybody have a list of those changes? I promise the questions will stop when I actually get the Mini!

Cheers!

(I think there may be a few other things that changed as of Jan 05, a search on Nam should turn up a bunch of info.)

what I know
the 2006 models have the auto headlight function.
ex: headlight comes on automatically when it's dark.

Not unless you've bought the convenience package. That feature isn't on my 06.

I believe the 05 & 06 are the same except for a few colors missing on 06's & the 06's costing a bit more.

thanks for hte link. GREAT info there.

I'm concerned with the alarm since i ordered one from Classic Mini with the25% discount. I noticed the new model numbers but didnt realize it was due to the new low wiper reseviour indicator. I hope this works out for me... as i provided the model year as such.

thx

I think that was avail in 05 as well, I recall not opting for it...

FYI, you can review the changes from the 02-04 model years to the first version of the 05s here:
