Stranded!!

Add me to the list of those that the mini has stranded on the side of the road. Stuck in third, shifter disconnected from tranny. This just after I got through announcing how much I still like the car (still do too). I drove it home in third and parked it for the weekend. The hauler will take it to the dealer this morning (70 miles). I'll keep you all apprised...

Sorry to hear about your clutch. Seems like there's a lot of that happening lately.

I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Not the clutch - clutch works fine. It's the shifter/tranny thing.

I guess if I had to be stuck in a gear, third would be it. Hope all goes well.

I had to replace one of my two shifter cables...dryrot ate away the flexing connector end. This was, of course, outside warranty. The cable cost $100 or so, without labor!

The cable was not stocked. They patched it up with bailing wire and gum and down the road I went. I'll take it back in a couple of days for the proper fix once the part shows up.

Apparently there is sleeved component that separated (!). I wonder how common this is?
