Do I have a disease?

I have an 05 with 33k and I want to trade it in for another one. I want the whole process over again. I want to get another color. I want different wheels. I want more mints. I want to break her in.

i know what ya mean. I look at my dream future, i see like 4-6 brightly colored MINI's in my driveway and my future girl/wife washing one of them. the children are playing out in the yard...far away from the MINI's just cant get enough of the MINI

Yeah, i did that, i had an 05 Cooper and i traded it in 6 months and 12k after i got it for an 04 (10/03 car) S with 36k on it and i havent looked back since.

I got the car I originally wanted to almost the exact options for 5-6k less than i would have paid for it new!

No, save for one thing.....do you really want the anxiety and stress of checking the owners center 5x a day hoping to see a status update, or calling MINI USA to see if their IVR has any different information?

Thanks to that process, this is the first car I've ever had that I memorized the VIN of!

The waiting, to me, was the worst part - I don't know if I could handle that again. BUT, if I was still driving my current MCS, it would probably be easier to handle!

The medical term for this is MOCD (MINI Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). The number of cases in the last 4 years has jumped exponentially. It is thought to have originated in Germany in early 2002, jumped the channel to Britain shortly thereafter and quickly spread worldwide from there. Support groups have sprung up everywhere in recent months (ie. NorthAmericanmotoring.com, etc). There is no known cure.

i think Excederin sells pills for extreme-MOCD conditions...but they
only released them at MINI dealerships for some reason.

it comes in many different colors and combinations. hehe

We're all obsessed. Get used to it.

When I went to sell my perfectly good 2003 Cooper to get a 2006 MCS, I tried to convince my parents to buy it just so I didn't have to go through the pain of watching someone else drive him. In a perfect world, I would collect MINIs like I collect shoes

Yes, you have a disease, ninja....it's called love!!! For many of us, owning a MINI is about much more than simply owning a car. MINIs are quite special that way, aren't they?

While I fully understand your desire get another MINI (having gone through this myself every few months) allow me to mention another way which is no less sick. See, I've kept my Cooper...and will continue to keep it...because there's little nuances to it I've discovered only over time. I did not fully appreciate these things...or even notice them...early in my ownership experience. They're tiny things, but they have drilled into my heart to the point that I'm totally and competely fascinated and entertained with the car I've got.

Try it.....it's obsession of a different order.....but still very much falls in the disease category!!

I guess it's one of those things that will be lodged in my memory...until the next one!

It is a sickness . .

I stopped at the dealer in January "just to see what was new" and a few minutes later I was behind the wheel of an '06 JCW (dang SA KNEW she'd have me as soon as she offered me the drive . . .) Four days later my 9-month old, 22K mile '05 MCS was gone and my new JCW was in the driveway.

Absolutely everyone (spouse included) thinks I'm nuts but I don't regret it at all. Variety is truely the spice of life

It scares me when I read about people here or on MINI2 that have decided to "cure" themselves by switching to a different make of car! Why do they do it?

I let my dad drive MIB and he is now looking for a MINI. Perhaps I should sell him MIB and then get a MCS?
