I got 35.5mpg from Sacramento to Monterey doing about 70-80 with the AC on. These cars are impressive and I am really happy about this purchase.
Oh, and hard acceleration does kill the mpgs.

On a recent trip from Colorado Springs to Durango I got 39mpg. But that was driving like I was hauling eggs. On the way back I took a different route that went over 3 mountain passes and only got about 32 mpg. I just couldn't resist letting it hang out on those curvy mountain roads!
On my daily commute I'm getting 30 mpg, 60% hwy.
Mods are 15%, CAI and lighter than the S-lites 16 inch wheels.

On my first tank since buying my 03 MCS I got 23. That is 75% city driving and the rest highway. I've been having lots of fun and know that will get better once I start driving normally again.

I got 24mpg on the last tank. all city. Average 21mph. Lots of stop and go. A/C on. Usually much better without the A/C on. I got 38.5 on the highway without the A/C on with the sun roof tilted up and the cruise set at 68mph. This is in an R50. I think the larger wheels/tires contribute to the lower milage as well.

I vary, anywhere from 32mpg to 22mpg, what people don't realize is that shifting at 3k is not necessarily going to save you gas!! Its throttle position not engine speed that kills it. I'll probably get flamed for that, so YES I know revving it up to 7k each time will kill your MPG, but you have to consider load on the engine, if your climbing a hill and your flooring 4th gear moving at 20mph, your using MORE gas than shifting to third or second.

That said, I live in a hilly area, and dream of better gas mileage.

I am in the process of testing my mpg's. Just wondering what the average is since I put my K&N intake on. Its great though, I not even down to 3/4's of tank yet, but I have already put on 120 miles since last fill up. I love Minis

The Great Experiment

I granny shifted my 2004 MCS 1,3,5,6 for a tank - all shifts under 3k, no A/C and stuck it at 65 on the highway (75% of the tank).
- 35.3 mpg, personal best

I rode the same stretch a bit harder earlier this year and scored another personal record - 19.6 mpg.

What magic happens at 3k that the mini gets yum yum hungry?

I'm getting pretty good mileage short-shifting (below 3k RPM) and doing no faster than 70 mph. I clock in at an average of 28-29 mpg, and that's 75% city driving. These levels of mileage and fun don't usually co-exist...

30.9mpg with an average speed of 34.8 by the trip computer over the last month. Started off at 28.6mpg, installed a K&N filter went up to 29.4, and then replaced spark plugs and changed oil to Mobil 1 0w30. This is where I am now. These numbers are from when I purchased the car in July till now.

Now that I'm back on summers, I'm seeing around 25 (calculated) on mostly country back-roads with bursts of spirited driving and a touch of sustained 80mph highway, or around 330 miles / tank. A few longer highway trips have yielded about 29 (OBC). I'm quite pleased considering my driving style and the mods I have.

I get 20-21 mpg avg. I live in a suburb where it is mostly city like driving, hiways occasionally. If I am on a hiway, its not for a long period of time. I also get on it quite a bit, probably more than most people just because the car is new.

On the freeway it gets about 32 MPG at 70 wich is nice. Im just not very impressed with the overall MPG. What do you guys get for MPG's?
Thanks Eduardo

I've got an 03 MCS and all I do is highway driving. I get 42.7 per the trip comp at 55-60 mph

If I use the fuel gauge/trip-ometer calculation, I get 25 mpg (highway/cit combination). However, as soon as I hit 90 miles I filled my tank back up. It only took 3.1 gallons which means I'm averaging about 30 MPG combined.
