Service experience

Just thought I'd share a few thoughts on South Bay Mini in Torrance. I was a little afraid to take the car anywhere due to reading about bad experiences in SoCal regarding Mini service. I remembered a few posts that gave South Bay a positive review and my work just moved close by so I figured I'd give it a shot - not to mention they are said to sell at MSRP so that alone gives me incentive to support them. It was to time for my 25,000 mile oil change, etc... so I took it in for my first time (I bought the car used so I wasn't there when the 1st service was done). In addition I had the rattle in the dash and my clutch was squeeling on inclines. They replaced the dash, clutch and flywheel! In addition Jay looked to see if there was anything else he could do while the car was there. So, they serviced/flushed the brakes. It took a few days without a loaner but that was my fault as they just expected the service to be done. Rarely am I completely satisfied with anything regarding customer service but these guys really made my day. As always I was asked to give them the 5 star review when Mini gives me a call. I told Jay that I most definately would as I could not have had a better experience. I hope this post isn't in violation of site rules as I think these guys are due some praise based on my first experience. I have no affiliation with them - I'm just a pleased customer.

Hey Matt,
you aren't alone. South Bay MINI has improved their service quite a bit, and I think atleast from a perceptual point of view, it got better when they split the MINI service from BMW, although the MINI service area isn't immediately visible when you drive in.

I remember posts of a certain individual who felt slighted by SB, because he was dismayed to find that late arriving BMW owners were being helped before him, confirming his suspicion that BMW owners were treated better than MINI owners. In reality, they had separate service people for BMW and MINI and at that time, there weren't any MINI service people there. While the idea to have dedicated service people was good, it wasn't executed very well.

I'm glad to see that things have improved. I know my next MINI is coming from South Bay.
