I just got home after a two month absense from my MINI . I go to put my luggage in my boot and the drivers side rear seat won't fold down. It appears that the handle there is slightly in more than the other side and it does not pull out like it should, instead the top of the lever stays inside the outer part. I don't want to force it, but is there an alternate release thing like with the boot? Will have to call for appt, hopefully this is covered under warranty, but I doubt it... Oh, crap... I hope my warranty is still in effect! She's a Feb 03 build. EEK! Just 46k on her too...

 

Pretty sure there isn't a second release for the seats but that should be covered under warranty...

 

just a thought....did you try getting in the back seat and leaning hard up against the back of the seat to make sure it was fully upright?...maybe a good jarring of the seat back back to its full upright position will free that pesky latch
