Tiny little windshield chips..anyone?

I was washing my MINI the other day when I noticed like 20 tiny chips on the windshield. I am used to seeing them in the paint but never thought the glass would chip so much.

Should I be worried? Anyone else have it?

:impatient Everyone else has them, become1! It's been the bane of all MINI owners since 2002.

I just got a fresh rock chip in Wanda's windshield on my roadtrip a few days ago, but the way that the rock hit, doesn't look like it will spread into a major crack, so that is good.

BTW, I had to replace the first windshield after a semi-rig threw a rock onto my 7-week old MINI's windshield...

Very common problem with the MINI OEM glass. If you do a lot of highway driving, the pitting will become more evident as the car ages. Not much you can do there with the exception of trying not to follow other cars/trucks too closely in the highway.

Also the MINI is a car that rides low to the ground and the windshield is pretty steep and does not have the slant angle found on more conventional cars.

To fight off the front end paint chips, I purchased a clear bra kit for my MCS that has served me well for the past year. But for the glass there is not much you can do.

I know I've developed a haze as I drive in an area where the windshield has lots of sand getting kicked up. I'd be interested in seeing a vendor making tear-offs that could function in harmony with the wipers, too bad such an item doesn't exist.
