I am a Miniac in the Mid-West. I have gathered a few emails and names of other Coopers in Omaha, but I would like to get an "official" type club going. I know there are dozens across the U.S., and I was hoping for some advice. How are your various clubs organized? I do know that if you are in a club, you can get discounts at some dealers, tracks, and even vendors!

Any help would be great!

 

I'd also really love to start something here in Tallahassee, but I'm not sure how to advertise to other Mini owners, or even find other Mini owners.

 

CyberOgre, there are a few posts scattered around explaining some of the things to look out for, search on "new club" and you should get a few hits.
There are clubs that are loose affiliations of people who just want other MINIs to go for a drive with, in which case you can get away with a mailing list. There are other clubs with bylaws and dues and officers and all the rest. If you and the other Husker MINIs (I assume Nebraskans would HAVE to be Husker MINIs?) want to go that route, contact some other clubs and see if you can get copies of their bylaws and constitutions to work from.

2ndMiniac...when we started the Sin City MINI Club, we emailed all the Owners Lounge users with Vegas addresses, put contact info at the local dealership, and posted on the online forums.

I am willing to pull some possible members to your gatherings in Omaha and Lincoln. There are several MINI's out here in Central Nebraska. I am sure I can get at least 3 to come to club events out there. Trying to get our loose club out here. C.O.R.N Coopers Of Rural Nebraska. So if you want we can get something started.

I got your PM but am unsure if you are traveling to the dragon by way of KC with the rest of the caravan, or if you are taking a different route.
