i bought it back when we were in the middle of painting, there were some fitting issues so i decided to go with stock hood. I will, however, be installing this and fitting it as best I can.

Stay tuned for pics of the fit.

Ouch! Put a towel or something in between that hood and the dash! Hope you didn't drive with it like that...

Just for kicks, see if you can get a bumper in there, too. And a keg.

Alright, so i spent yesterday fittin the hood. everything fits pretty good. I stopped when i found that the latches dont line up, they arent even close to the point of adjustment. This means I would need to use hood pins to keep it down. anyone know where I could find these? I put my old hood back on for the time being. I do like the look, I just have no pins for it yet. I figure by summer, I'll have clips for it and all.

Whatcha think?

no, thats not the final fit. it isnt latched. WHen I removed the latches and pushed the hood down, as if it WERE latched, it looks good.

anyone have any pics of MINI;s with hood pins or know where I can get some. I dont know where they would attach to the frame.

Thanks much

you can probably also pick up some hood pins from jegs or something. one other thing to consider. my cousin is a paint guy and for his civic he just ordered a cf hood and front fenders. he's going to spray green candy over the CF and it won't be visible until you get on it. I think something like that could look great with your orange... just not too much flake (if any)!

Hey cody,

If someone posted that pic, I myself would ask very quickly if that was the final fit, for me, coming from a paint and body guy, thats a very ittirating picture.

I dont car if it doenst latch or not, that pic shows the hood not properly aligned on the hinges, and has nothing to do with latches.

From that pic, it looks to me as if the hood is warped.

You wont be able to use a conventional set of hood pins, you will need to use the kind shown above, the ones they use in the JCW challenge series.

i forget where i bought it from. It was a company in Cal. I bought it through ebay. I bid to match the cost of a stock hood as I was purchasing a stock hood anyway. It just made sense that, if they were both the same price, why not CF? anyway. the hood turned out to fit horribly, or maybe just needed a bunch of fitting so i just bought a regular hood too and painted that instead.

finally fit the hood. I think im gonna end up painting it. I like the CF look as it adds aggression, but i also LOVE the old look of all orange hood.

what do you think?
