Vehicle Distribution Center

Hey guys! Just wondering what exactly goes on at the VDC, I heard just a check up, some say paint and other stuff. I live in New Jersey so theres a VDC close by. Also how long does that stage usually take? I read a few days to a few weeks!

Question, if you ordered your car and specified the bonnet stripes, where are they installed? At the factory or the VDC? Not sure about the dealership though. I ordered the stripes on my car and I rushed over the day my car arrived at the dealership and voila, the stripes were installed.

I think some of the stripes are now factory installed, they used to be only dealer. Maybe some one else can verify.

Yep... stripes are factory installed now but the dealer will still do it if you want to add them later.

My car sat at the VDC for something less than 3 days. My car arrived at the Port of Newark (NJ) on a sunday night and i think i had my car 4 days later (Mini of Morristown NJ)

My car was off loaded on July 21 and arrived at the dealership(NJ) on July 25th. It's pretty sweet then your dealership is only a few exits away off the Turnpike from the port.

Awesomeness. I can't wait. Literally. When I'm not busy with normal life stuff, I'm spending my Cooper time pushing around a toy model and playing Forza Motorsport driving a MCS. lol Hey, it's got 375whp in the game. w00t

Edit:

Oh, forgot to ask. At this point, how will I know when my MINI has left the VDC? I doubt ASK MINI or the owners lounge is going to be very helpful anymore. :( And I assume the Wallenius Wilhelmsen information is done giving? So do I just wait for a call from the powers that be? (aka my dealer (they think they're special (I'm pretty special too for being able to use all these parathesis)))

Kindly,
Jonathan

Whoooow, sign stuff "Kindly"...it feels weird...

Mine too. I was offloaded at the port in NJ last Tuesday at about 1PM and it was at the dealer here in Virginia early Wednesday afternoon. Picked it up on Thursday morning. I was one of the last off the boat so my MA suggested that for that reason I was one of the first through the VPC and onto a truck.

Try calling your MA, he should have some sort of idea as to the next shippment out of the VDC. You're far enough away, that they'd probably wait for a full truck before heading your way.

My MINI arrived in Charleston, SC on Feb 28 and was in Palm Beach the next evening. I imaging I was only in the VDC for about 8 hours.

Dobby was at the VDC for about a week. Apparently, he was so excited to get off the ship, that he scraped his wheel. So that needed to be fixed before he could be released...

Are you serious? I'm so excited right now! What might be adding to the excitment is I picked a stock in the market about 4 days ago and it has gone up almost 10%. I'm only 17 so I'm not trading with real money. I'm just playing online play-money games that reflect the real market.

Damn, I wish I woulda put some real money into that though.

If you ordered the aero-kit they'll install that at the distribution center...

So envious of those who spent so little time at the VDC. Logan seems to have booked an extended vacation there. Offloaded in NJ 7/25, and his current estimated arrival date at my dealer in Boston is 8/6. I want my MINI!

Folks, talk to your MA.
In our case the website said we were still out to sea when our MA was saying we should be all set for a delivery on X date. And sure enough the MA had the scoop. So moral is the web site is a few days behind reality, or at least was in our case.

Sadly, the 8/6 news _is_ from my MA...I got bumped from a truck or two. But yes, MA should have all the latest info.

I'm told that mine will be at the VDC 2-4 days total. But I'm having the aero kit and JCW brakes put on. With any luck, she'll leave there tomorrow.

the only place to estimate how long your car will be at the VDC is thru your MA, correct?

car was offloaded 8/1 15:25PM at Port Newark (NJ)
car needs to be transported to MINI of Morristown

sbp

If you order an S and stripes matching the roof, they are put on at the factory. Otherwise, they are put on at the dealer for both models.
