I have a 05 MCS and it does NOT have the symbol on it.
I'm assuming the wine glass means cocktails...or alcohol. Don't drink and drive. I'd would advise all MINI drivers to heed the um..advice. My brother's car was t-boned by a drunk drive who "didn't see the redlight". But felt perfectly sober otherwise.

 

I know it wasn't on a Nov. build 05 but did make it on my July build 05.

 

I just had the bluetooth kit retrofitted and Morristown removed the aforementioned cupholder (I have the wine glass symbol on mine) to put the bluetooth control pad in place. My girlfriend misses the cupholder but I'm glad to be rid of it.

 

I found the no wine symbol rather funny. The holder is really ugly but it works very well... does it stay or does it go? Time will tell!
