If You Could Trade-Out a Feature/Function . . .

. . . WHAT WOULD IT BE?

I think I'd ditch that lying, cheating, incessantly fluctuating and eternally fictional instant gas mileage readout . . .

FOR . . .

either a COMPASS or a current TRIP TIME readout.

What would you folks wish for?

Yeah!! - I'd get rid of the average speed data too! It's never right either - and why would I need/want that info anyway?

I'd swap it for a boost guage!!!

I would like to see the option of high performance regular tires and a mobility kit instead of the mandatory runflats on the MCS. I would also like the xenons to be bi-xenons, all other BMW engineered cars have had them for years now.

Trade? My factory armrest, for dang near anything! If I could remove it without having to buy a replacement e-brake console, it would already be in the trash bin. Grrrr....

WHY IN THE WORLD don't they just ADD in a compass to the OBC?! It drives me crazy.

I thought you could remove the factory armrest. Isn't it just 2 screws that mount to the seat rails?

golden_child, that was an early retrofit part, not like the current one at all. The new one uses a different e-brake console to accomodate the hinge.
But thanks for thinking of me!

OMG Yes! That is the one thing I miss from my old car is having a freaking compass. And I know I could get a sticky globe to put on the dash but that looks stupid. I just want a compass I can put in the OBC, I am always looking at temp anyways, rarely use any of the other stuff.

You all are thinking WAY too small

I'd trade out that itty bitty four banger and put at least a 5 liter V8 with TORQUE.

I'd love automatic seat memory - or whatever that's called. I hate the cranking I have to do after my husband has driven the car

No chance for either an M-works tuned V8 or an AMG V8?

I want to ditch the Diamler Chrysler/BMW engine and the upcoming pugeot engine for a true BMW degisned and built engine. Then give us a TRUE SMG like out of the M3

haha well back to the simple things.......I agree---I want a compass!

I also would trade the garage door opener for a power seat.

A real BMW 4-cylinder would be great -- why couldn't they have used the old 318i engine -- just rotated 90 degrees?

Standard/optional features I'd like to see added-
Whalen shift **** or similar for all transmissions
GPS with compass built in- all within Trip computer
In dash Laser detector with indash signal or lights
Built in Boost gauge for all MCS.

Things to loose-
Those heavy MINI stock rims- find a way to lighten them without sacrificing strength or durability.
For those with cabrios- get some more durable materials for the cabrio top- seems like many tops aren't lasting long- even with normal use and less than a year.

I'm not sure what I would trade for, but the OBC is really not worth anything. I wish they would leave it off whatever package it's part of. I'd rather have something worthwhile like... maybe money off so I could put it toward just about anything else.

What is all this complaining (is that the right word) about the MINI features.

I like it JUST the way it is.

Run it hard,
Cool it down, and
don't put it away wet

I agree, but a little floaty compass gadget would be FUN!

I'd gladly trade:

1. the clock in the speedometer for a clock over the mirror
2. the mode button on the dash for a mode button on the steering wheel
3. the nintendo buttons on the front of the wheel for proper buttons on the back of the wheel
4. 6.5"x16" wheels for some lighter 7"x16"
5. an over priced JCWs kit for the Getrag AWD system

It's late, maybe I'll think of some more after some sleep
